Amy & Andrew's Wedding
Amy & Andrew's Middleton Lodge wedding was a strong contender for my wedding of the year for 2018! This was a real fairy tale wedding & was an absolute wedding photographers dream. I loved every minute of it & was really pleased with the moments I managed to capture.
The day began at Amy & Andrew's house to capture some photos of the Bride to be & her Bridesmaids getting ready. Amy & her Bridesmaids were in high spirits as expected. The sense of anticipation was clear to see and capturing these special pre ceremony moments was made effortless by how friendly & welcoming everyone was. As time quickly passed by (as it always does on the morning before a wedding) the excitement grew & before I knew it it was time to head to the venue, Middleton Lodge.
As a North Yorkshire based wedding photographer, I am lucky enough to cover weddings at a plethora of stunning wedding venues, and Middleton Lodge is up there with my favourites! Amy & Andrew's Ceremony was held in a stunning barn like building set aside form the main estate & their wedding reception took place in the 'Fig House' building which is surrounded by its very own two acre garden. To call this a 'Garden' is actually an understatement... Fig House is situated within a walled area and is surrounded by the most beautiful array of meadow like plants & bushes you can imagine. For the bride & Groom portraits I took full advantage of all the different areas that this venue has to offer & this made for some beautiful photographs.
One of the highlights of this wedding was the surprise marching band which had been organised by the Bride & Groom. As the guests were enjoying drinks & canapés in the sunshine the marching band fired up from seemingly nowhere to the total surprise of all the wedding guests. With an array of songs & routines they wowed the guests & wrapped it up just in time for the wedding breakfast in 'Fig House'.
After the wedding breakfast Amy, Andrew & myself explored the grounds further to capture some more bride & groom portraits. It was like a photographers play ground with so many different areas & buildings to explore, all connected with paths & walkways blooming with plants & trees! As a wedding photographer I tend to merit wedding venues a lot based on the photo opportunities they offer & Middleton Lodge had endless potential for some amazing photographs.
For me, Amy & Andrew's wedding was near enough the perfect day. The weather was beautiful, the venue was incredible & everyone including myself had a great time! sometimes on a wedding day everything just falls into place & this was definitely one of those times!
